Naomi Campbell charged with assaulting two police officers
Naomi Campbell was removed from a British Airways’s plane at London’s Heathrow Airport on April 3 and was told that she will face prosecution on five different counts for allegedly having assaulted two police officers.
Simon Nicholls who is Naomi’s lawyer said, “Ms. Campbell is bitterly disappointed to find out she will be prosecuted on the five charges.
Prosecutors in this case have decided she needs to be prosecuted in the magistrates court. She respects that decision and she hopes this matter is dealt with expeditiously”.
She faces three counts of assaulting a constable which carries a maximum sentence of six months in prison and a $10,000 fine.
She also faces a count of ‘disorderly conduct likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress’ for which she could be fined up to $5,000 and one count of ‘using threatening, abusive words or behavior’ towards the cabin crew, which has a maximum penalty of $2,000.
